The plot involves one man’s difficulty in coping with his employee’s peculiar form of passive resistance. “Bartleby the Scrivener” was written by Herman Melville in 1853 and was first published in Putnam’s Magazine in the November/December issue of that year. Once that is done, pick up the Absorber and return to Krockes. Placing the Absorber will summon Malikor as a spirit (this process might take a minute or two). You will find a cemetery if you follow the marker on the map and will see a place to put a Trace Absorber to the right of a tombstone. To increase your Reputation, talk to Laurentius Krockes at the Brightwood Hamlet and open the Faction Board and complete some of the Faction Quests he has available. This is a quest requirement that will carry over to each other faction as well and will task you with getting 3,000 Reputation to complete this quest and begin the Trial. Once you join, you will be given a side story titled “Syndicate Advancement: Scrivener” which will task you with gaining Reputation. The first step is to play through the main story quest until you complete the mission “Choose your Allegiance” which is where you will get to choose your faction.
